Prarthana Thaker is a Counselling Psychologist and Career Counsellor based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and the founder of Lilac Minds. She holds an MA in Counselling Psychology from Parul University (2021-2023), an International Graduate Diploma in Advanced Counselling Skills from the Indian School of Counselling and Healing Studies (ISCHS, 2019-2020), and a BA in Psychology from Gujarat University (2016-2019). She is a Professional Diploma-trained psychotherapist and an International Certified Career Coach (ICCC). Over seven years of clinical practice, she has worked with hundreds of students, teenagers, parents, and adults across anxiety, stress, low mood, difficult life transitions, exam pressure, and career decisions. From April 2020 through September 2025, she served as the School Counsellor at Delhi Public School, Jamnagar — over five years supporting students across all ages through individual counselling, group sessions, classroom programmes, career counselling, and close collaboration with parents and teachers. She continues at DPS Jamnagar as Visiting Faculty in Psychology and Life Skills. Prarthana founded Lilac Minds in October 2023 to make quality mental-health support accessible, confidential, and stigma-free in Saurashtra. Her approach is warm, practical, and grounded in counselling-psychology and psychotherapy techniques — drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for chronic stress and life transitions, behavioural activation for low mood, mindfulness-based interventions for rumination, and standardised psychometric assessment for career decisions. She works with adolescents and their families, students preparing for board examinations and competitive entrance tests, working professionals navigating career transitions, couples working through joint-family dynamics, and corporate teams seeking workplace mental-health support. Sessions are conducted in English, Hindi, or Gujarati. Available in-person at the Krishna Nagar Main Road clinic in Jamnagar and online for clients across India and the wider diaspora. Sessions are ₹1,500 (45–60 minutes), Monday through Saturday, 4 PM to 8 PM IST. The first 15-minute discovery call is free.
